As I described before , a Socialist is any citizen who sees problems in society , and would like to do something about it is REALLY a SOCIALIST .
I could say a POTENTIAL Socialist ie until that citizen , really realizes that .
So, all those Revolutionary GOPers who want to change things and take America back are whether they like it or not.....................Socialists.
BUT there are several kind of Socialists.
Everybody thinks that SOCIALIST is LEFTist ..................that is what has allowed the other side, to define Obama as Socialist.
HOWEVER, according to my definition, being a Socialist has nothing to do with where you are on the political spectrum Right of LEFT or Center or Far Right .
The SOLUTIONS they talk about will define what kind of Socialists they are.
THIS is exactly what WE THE PEOPLE should start thinking about.
the RIGHT wing SOCIALISTs denigrate the Democrats as the Party of BIG Government.
BUT they will not tell you that THEY ARE the party of VERY BIG GOVERNMENT .
That is the Party that will tell you that you cannot have Abortion , while at the same time they claim they are the Party of FREEDOM.
and i do not have time to get into other examples , but I hope you get the idea.

yes, aunt mali, you are right to focus in on the uselessness of most labels. reality is far too complex.
But what about the particular definition of a SOCIALIST ? as I expressed here.
I will refine it for you here.
Any citizen who sees a problem and would like to find a solution ........is comeone who cares for Society and this yearning for a solution will qualify him/her as a SOCIALIST
ie a citizen who cares for Society and strives to find SOLUTIONs to PROBLEMS.
Fianlly and simply put, A PROBLEM SOLVER is a good SOCIALIST.
