OK , the idea of having a Gov issued Photo ID for Voting is a fair one.
BUT what we have heard about the 37 States with Republican Governors requiring different papers and making it all the more difficult is FAR FROM FAIR !
So , It annoyed me, and I began to think about how to goabout making sure every voter would have a Photo ID issued by GOV.
SO, let me tell you how to think about this. WE are A NATION and we have NATIONAL ELECTIONs on the FEDERAL LEVEL. DO we NOT ???
Then it is the ROLE /DUTY of the FEDERAL GOVernment to DECIDE what it wants and How it wants to go about it.
It is NOT the role of Each STATE Governor to DICTATE what they want or need.
SO the ATTORNEY General has to declare the rules.
I suggest the following for ease of logistics.
EACH and every POLLING stations should be equiped with the COMPUTER and the CAMERA attached to it that can take a picture like they have In SAMS CLUB
The voter who does not already have some kind of acceptable ID should bring an addressed envelope from a utility company , their social security card and/or Medicare or Food stamp or even a regular credit card with their name on it .
The official could then take a picture of them and immediatly issue the card as Sams Club does.
A fee of 5 dollars could be charged and it should be ANNOUNCED that a HEAVY PENALTY will be effective if anyone cheats or misrepresents.
This could be done by other places like Public Libraries .
I have presented this idea in an Email to our very good REP LOUISE SLAUGHTER in Rochester < NY and have also contacted the AG office by phone and asked them to contact me.
The FEDERAL Government should decide about this, and NOT the STATES .
ALSO the Federal Government could use the POST OFFICES for this purpose.

Fareed ZaKaria today talked about Leadership and how people judge the different PRESIDENTS leadership.
As he was speaking, I was reminded of my own view held for several years now, after hearing so many Americans PINING for a LEADER.
Indeed, every time I hear that line, I wonder if my fellow citizens realize what they are yearning for . Because WISHING for a LEADER, can only mean you want to be a FOLLOWER.
NO , I certainly do not wish for a Leader.
But after speaking about leadership , Fareed had an interview with the Historian David McCULLOUGH .
Fareed asked him What do you think of President Obama ?
Mr McCULLOUGH replied : " I ADMIRE HIM VERY MUCH .......etc
My heart goes out to him etc .....

My GREAT sadness

These past several weeks , I have heard about the Penn Univ Football team sexual attacks on young boys , and today about the FAMU HAZING, and it is with great sadness that I must say .................I AM SICK of hearing about these awful events, and I am beginning to think that this Society is also SICK.
WHAT a ridiculous idea to be hazed in order to belong to a group ? !
Have we lost all sense of human decency ? why are these practices not Criticized , or even SHAMED. ?
I try to say, I should not be judgemental . Who am I to judge ? This is a free country !
etc etc.
Nevertheless, Should I not be free to express dislike and HORROR even at hearing of tese practices.?
Sure I can . This is about freedom of Expression and Speech.
SO
I am going to say how I hate some of the things I saw in Movies .
Although I am ashamed to even mention them in this PUBLIC Journal of mine . There was a particular scene I saw in a movie called " ... .... ... .... "

CITIZENS UNITED and ME

I do believe that people should have the right to spend money on a cause or candidate , on a condition
I also believe that TRANSPARENCY is ESSENTIAL and all such contributions should be declared and well displayed with names.
However , I also believe that Corporations should NOT have this right .
1- Because Corporations have to answer to thousands of shareholders and also SHOULD ask them explicitly if they agree.
2- Because Millions of people who use their products have a LEGITIMATE right NOT to want any contributions to be made , simply because the COSTS of contributions is charged to the customers anyway. I am sure the vast majority would prefer NOT to have to pay higher price for those products .
3- Last but not least , my reason is based on the CONSTITUTION .
First amendment constitutional Right is given to each Citizen. That is each PERSON has this right of FREE SPEECH .
But is MONEY FREE SPEECH ? i would not put it this way, but as i said above , i said that it seems OK for a citizen to spend $$$$$ on a cause or a candidate. ON CONDITION that it is made absolutely transparently. as to the amount and the Donor.
NOW finally , the equating of MONEY with Free Speech is really controversial . Millions do not think it could be equal . And on a DEMOCRATIC level , it is not fair to equate the 2.
However , on the level of FREEDOM, it is hard for me to say that a Citizen is NOT allowed to spend his/her money on whatever they feel like .
SUPREME COURT argument equates Corporations with People.
That is not acceptable to millions of Americans , and even I , although I can allow a citizen to use their Money for Political contribution on condition of transparency, that is NOT WHAT the SUPREME COURT has done.
The Supreme court has done CARTE BLANCHE to Corporations PLUS SECRECY.
THAT is a total farce. Very UN-democratic. THAT should NOT STAND.
I will keep my last POINT which is also based on the Constitution .

SOCIALISM ? RIGHT or LEFT Socialism

As I described before , a Socialist is any citizen who sees problems in society , and would like to do something about it is REALLY a SOCIALIST .
I could say a POTENTIAL Socialist ie until that citizen , really realizes that .
So, all those Revolutionary GOPers who want to change things and take America back are whether they like it or not.....................Socialists.
BUT there are several kind of Socialists.
Everybody thinks that SOCIALIST is LEFTist ..................that is what has allowed the other side, to define Obama as Socialist.
HOWEVER, according to my definition, being a Socialist has nothing to do with where you are on the political spectrum Right of LEFT or Center or Far Right .
The SOLUTIONS they talk about will define what kind of Socialists they are.
THIS is exactly what WE THE PEOPLE should start thinking about.
the RIGHT wing SOCIALISTs denigrate the Democrats as the Party of BIG Government.
BUT they will not tell you that THEY ARE the party of VERY BIG GOVERNMENT .

on the other extreme we would have the Dictatorship of the bosses !! well that does not sound very good either.
First it is that word DICTATORSHIP

We cannot be FOR JOBS , if we are against JOB CREATORS .......sure that made sense
and so JOB Seekers must not be against JOB Creators !!
the Difference between DICTATORSHIP and DEMOCRACY lies in an understanding between the employer and the employee.
I want also to give a real life example to decide about this issue .
Let me tell you about hearing of a company who had hit hard times . The boss said to the employees that times are tough , and we cannot continue as before . I have to either reduce employees , or we could ask everyone to work instead of 5 days a week , only 3 . or 30 hours instead of 40 hours.
One employee said , i will go elsewhere because i cannot do with the pay for only 3 days , i need full time.
But the others decided to accept and do as the employer BOSS said. so that all would still have a job.
Does that sound reasonable or not ?

WRONG DIRECTION ?!

The Pollsters or (Pollocrats ) often ask People about the Direction of the Country
( they call it wrong track or right track ) and announce that a majority say the country is going in the wrong direction.
Right now, it is about 73 %.
No wonder really , since the Political gridlock and the Economic Anxiety have taken a toll on the proverbial American OPTIMISM .
That is in a great party to the CONSTANT propaganda of the Deficit Hawks who have shown (correctly ) the amount of DEBT America has. Plus the constant criticism and bashing of OBAMA by the TEAbaggers and GOPers.
I have a different INTERPRETATION of the POLL numbers on that subject.

GRIDLOCK is not the solution

I think it was before the 2008 Election that I wrote here something like this :
America has many problems and needs to solve them. So, I hope that the Democratic Party can win a substantial VETO proof Majority in order to be able to solve them.
Well, Little did I know that there was such a thing as FILIBUSTER and that the Democratic Party had so many Blue Dogs voting with the GOPers.
So even that MAGICAL 60 Vote Majority would be just a number , and not translate into votes.
The Filibuster makes each senator a DICTATOR who could force his/her will and stop all reasonable solutions .
I remember even the Late Daniel SCHORR naming this STUBBORN REPUBLICAN OPPOSITION ................the TYRANNY of the MINORITY.
The determination of the GOPers to PREVENT Obama to accomplish anything really effective and the intention to make him a ONE TERM President was OBVIOUS to all.
This is why it was amazing for me to see how the Professional LEFT did not take that Opposition into account and blame Obama for everything.
That was not only UNFAIR but STUPID and politically IGNORANT.
Unfortunately, we saw how the MID TERM election gave the House back to the Republican Party with their TEAbagger footsoldiers coming out to vote with Enthousiasm , while the DEMS went MIA on NOV 2, 2010.
Now we really have GRIDLOCK .
This Political griodlock and the ECONOMIC Anxiety has demoralized the American People so much that 73 % think the country is going in the wrong direction .

And Obviously , if occupation would be 24/7 the TENTS would be necessary.
So , now, the Mayor forced this.
One line of Mayor Bloomberg said that the Occupiers would not instead of using the power of their presence, would have to ...power of their argument.
and that was good

A few days ago, I made a comment on HuffingtonPost .
It had to do with the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling.
Suddenly, I realized something. I have to ask someone who is an expert ie more knowledgeable than me if the DISTINCTION i noticed is correct or not on the particular subject of FREEDOM of SPEECH as mentionned in the Constitution 14th ammendment.
Here is what I noticed : Freedom of speech being granted to individual citizens , and why the saying MONEY is SPEECH has to be applied to INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS ie PERSONs
So ONE PERSON can use MONEY as SPEECH................and give $$$$$ to a politician.
BUT
corporations may be PEOPLE ( many persons ) so, since the people in corporations are not asked if they want to give money $$$$$$ then that rule of MONEY is SPEECH cannot apply to the CORPORATION ( people as SHAREHOLDERS ).
Now, if some right wingers object to this, i will respectfully remind them that HOW COME that you OBJECT to the UNIONS ...........giving contributions to politicians because you say WORKERS may not want to..............contribute to that or this politicians.

I have been thinking seriously on where we are in the political debate in our country just a year before the 2012 Election.
Indeed, the 2012 Election is a CHOICE election.
The Choice is between the VISION of the 2 major Political Parties.
1- The GOP likes TAX CUTS , No REGULATIONS and NO Spending for Safety Nets , Cuts for Medicare , Social Security and even Abolishing the MINIMUM WAGE.
Perhaps you can really see what the abolishing the minimum wage would really MEAN !!
their philosophy is YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN .

I have been thinking seriously on where we are in the political debate in our country just a year before the 2012 Election.
Indeed, the 2012 Election is a CHOICE election.
The Choice is between the VISION of the 2 major Political Parties.
1- The GOP likes TAX CUTS , No REGULATIONS and NO Spending for Safety Nets , Cuts for Medicare , Social Security and even Abolishing the MINIMUM WAGE.
Perhaps you can really see what the abolishing the minimum wage would really MEAN !!

LET'S SEE. I have a friend who says the following :

So, with that definition in mind, I would say the following :

OCCUPY wall street

I was in New York , and while on a Grayline hop on and Hop off bus , we passed the OWS protest.
I could not resist , and I hopped off and went to see what was happening.
I did not know the name of the place, but i saw it was on Broadway and Cedar st.
Later on i learned it must be the now famous ZUCCOTTI Park.
I saw a sign and told the young man that he should not use BAD words........It was about UNCLE SAM being a M-------- !
He did not object to my objection , and he explained.....
But i still insisted NO bad words. and at a time when the FED Gov was under attack, it should not be attacked by them too, making them exactly like the Teabaggers.
I complimented those who had good signs
I Also told some young men (3) that it was not wise to be 100% agaisnt Wall Street etc....
I met a lady who had a marvellous sign hand written in support of Obama and I agreed with her.she cried..........I also took her toward another sign that was Pro Obama and there I took her sign and held it too...........up high.
Also , I asked that other man if I could hold up his sign. He was happy to hand it over. I guess it is hard to hold up a sign for a long time hours upon hours !
So, I really appreciated my visit with them.
I hope they can succeed in cleaning the system .

Who are these Independents who are now made so IMPORTANT by the Polls and Pundits ?
I have not much respect for them. I find them lazy , spoiled brats , and irresponsible politically.
Today I heard that finally a Pollster by the name of Stanley GREENBERG found that the Independents are ..............LESS INFORMED and LESS ENGAGED.
Well, Now I am not alone.
I created AFA in order to ENGAGE them and make them feel that they had the duty to ENGAGE and BE INFORMED.
PERHAPS someone should ask them WHY are you INDEPENDENTS ? .......really !

In Dec 2004 , AFA was started as a dream for AMerica to SHINE above all the rest by making this union a MORE PERFECT union.
Today as I witness the sad state of affairs we have fallen into, i really feel like crying.
President Obama said the other day that The American PEOPLE have voted for a Divided Government, NOT a DYSFUNTIONAL Government.!!!
As I heard this line I remembered what I had said and written here august 4 , 2008 and in another post

I had heard that the GOPers wanted to establish the:
PERMANENT REPUBLICAN MAJORITY
however I was not sure when . So it was with great pleasure that that question was answered on July 14, 2011. at exactly 10.52 am
That great event happened on NPR Diane Rheem Show when she said that Gov Patrick had been a classmate of GROVER NORQUIST, and apparently when he had met him again in 2003, Grover told him about the PERMANENT REPUBLICAN MAJORITY !!
GOV Patrick questionned him about that in disbelief that anyone should speak of PERMANENT Majority in a Democracy.
To which Grover replied : " we will make it so , that a Democrat cannot govern as a Democrat "
So, you see my fellow citizens that the 2 party system is actually a ONE PARTY system. When every elected official has to govern as the REPUBLICAN PARTY DICTATES.
And today as we are awaiting the Deal about the DEBT CEILING ................you can bet that once again the GOPers will dictate their terms to President Obama , as they had done previously to the last Democratic President BILL CLINTON.

PLEASE ......................note that it is really very DEMEANING when we use the Term MIDDLE CLASS..............................
What we should say is Middle INCOME people /folks
I know Some HIGH INCOME people who have NO CLASS at all , and many Middle income people who do have CLASS.
I actually knew some who were Poor , and had class.
How could this term have gained traction in a Society that Claims has no class distinciton.???
Just wanted to say this , since i believe it and have been outraged by the constant use of the term Middle CLASS !

I am writing this with a very heavy heart.
I heard of a POLL done by the New York Times/ CBS that really broke my heart specially since it seems true.
Aspen Ideas Poll :
1- 68 % believe that America has DECLINED in the Past 10 years .!
only 23 % ..............think otherwise
2- 78 % think the ECON is the most important issue.
18 % National Security. ---------------------
So, it is such a shame that the Victory we had gained by winning the COLD WAR , and becoming the ONLY SUPERPOWER ..............we blew it all by creating an ENEMY for ourselves.
WHAT a shame !
Where is AMERICA today....? the enemy created has bled us both financially and in real blood.

I had said that the GOP is trying to establish :
the PERMANENT REPUBLICAN MAJORITY
(which i had heard during the Karl Rove era ). That would in reality mean a ONE PARTY system. or in other words A TOTALITARIAN system , since they wanted it to be PERMANENT.
My fellow citizen replied to me that Democratic party also would aim at
NOW let me tell you how they differ.
We just have to look at the way the GOPers behaved when they had total control with George W Bush from 2000 -2006 or even 2008.
THEY all OBEYED BUSH ............no one dared criticize and they all voted along party line.
CORRECT ???? OK then now let us go to the DEMOCRATIC side.
In 2006 they got the HOUSE ..................but they still funded the wars as Bush had wanted
and finally in 2008 they got the TRIPLE CROWN ( as Bachmann says she wants.)
that is :
the House and the Senate and the Presidency with 365 Electoral Votes.
They had a 60 seats Majority in the SENATE . But what happened ???
As ususal, the Dems were divided had the right to say NO and even VOTE with the GOPers.
It means that EVEN when they HAVE TOTAL POWER , they do NOT ACT like DICTATORS..........................and allow the OPPOSITION to BEAT THEM DEAD.

When the GOP had total control of Government, we had a situation like we had from 2000 to 2006 and really 2008 because the Republicans are OBEDIENT and force others to be obedient too.
So, I remember that period as an almost DICTATORIAL system. Specially with the 2 wars we were led to and 9/11 event.
Even in 2006 when the DEMs got the HOUSE majority , the Dems were able to protect Privatization of Social Security.
However , the best contrast of the 2 parties came in 2008, when the Dems had the TRIPLE CROWN (as Bachmaan calls it )
and lo and behold ...............even with a 60 vote Super Majority in the SENATE.............the Democratic party showed its true colors ......OH yes the DEMs have a DIVIDED party , or to put it in another way..........
the DEMOCRATIC Party is 2 parties in one . Which means that they are a WEAK party and cannot RULE with FORCE like the GOPers.

The reason I am saying this is to warn people so that Bachmann 's aim to get the TRIPLE CROWN for the GOTPers is a really dangerous thing for the people.

I am so glad i passed by Buffalo yesterday, as people went to vote for a DEMocrat named Kathy HOCHUL who won by 47% to 43 % Davis 9 %
As Lawrence O'Donnell said with Joe Klein MEDICARE a Single payer run by Government folks love.............................without realizing it is SOCIALISM.

The happiness it generated in me and millions of American Citizens was wonderful.

April 9, 2011 In one of my earlier posts here, I mentionned that because we have so many problems , it is better to have a UNITED Government. At that time , I was hoping that a Super majority for the Democrats , would give us that. UNFORTUNATELY, the Democrats themselves were not , and are not UNITED , and DIVIDED they FELL in Nov 2010. Also, I certainly did not expect the GOP Opposition to be so LETHAL. So here we are , with a Divided Government, and one party much stronger than the other , more mean and determined to kill the other party , so as to become the ............... PERMANENT REPUBLICAN MAJORITY. I do not know what you understand by the PERMANENT Republican Majority........................but i hear the footsteps of another type of TOTALITARIAN Government with just the freedom of speech for the minority, but with NO POWER . From now on , the Democratic Party is the minority party , until the people realize what has come about in our Democracy, and use the ONLY TOOL they have ie The VOTE. ............................................VOTE for the UNDERDOG PARTY to create Balance !.................!!! My concern for America should be obvious to all who learn why in Dec 2004 , I bought a domain name ALLIANCE FO AMERICA.
So , as an inevitable consequence for that true love, when I heard about the US Debt hitting 14 Trillion dollars mark , it was obvious that I would react and search for a SOLUTION.
So, on Dec 6 2010, I bought several domain names
1- USDebtNoMore.com
2- USDebtNoMore.US
3- USDebtNomore.info
I started a Blog which you can reach http://www.usdebtnomore.blogspot.com/
www.USDebtnomoreus.blogspot.com/2010/12/debt-is-slavery.html
over 2 months have passed and i have been only able to figure out how i should go about it in a post titled BREAKTHROUGH.
However, the most difficult part is to get it to the OFFICIAL I have in mind without the mail being thrown in the trash by some insentitive Bureaucrat who opens the letter.
SO , I have to figure that out. I probably will have to use MULTIPLE ADDRESSES so that among all one will have the Intelligence and Care to give it to ............

Although you may not know me, i want to share my thoughts with you.
I think that there are so many wonderful things being done in America, and so many ADMIRABLE people in this beautiful country of ours.
BUT , I am sad to say that there is nothing left for me to ADMIRE in American Politics.
It has truly gone crazy.
The reason I bought this Domain name ALLIANCE for AMERICA was about a dream i had to UNITE the people at least around 1 , 2 or 3 problems that we have.
Alas , here we are so many years away from that DEC 2004 and still NObody seems to know about this .
No doubt, I am not proficient. I keep having ideas and cannot get them to Fly
i am very sad today.

WHY do you wonder why we have accumulated so much deficits and Debt ?
The above numbers show exactly WHY .
The TAX CUTTERS have STARVED the BEAST very effectively.!!!!
Now they plan to cut taxes even more for the top under the guise of TAX REFORM.
taking away the loopholes for the middle .........and broadening the tax base.
do you get it ?

Well, I am sad today.
As i look at the title of this Blog of mine , Alliance for America , I cannot help but realize how POWERLESS I am with all my good intentions to make something happen.
My hope was to do something big for America.

80% of the people DISapprove of this ruling, as anti -democratic
The Summit is on Jan 20 -22 to mark the Anniversary of that Decision.
